Save the date — Hill City Celebrations has announced that this year’s Hometown Fourth of July Festival is scheduled for Friday, July 4 in Neahwa Park, with a rain date of Saturday, July 5.
The event will kick off with a parade on Main Street at 1 p.m. Following the parade, family-friendly games and activities, bounce houses, food trucks and craft vendors, live music and other activities will be held all day in Neahwa Park. The night culminates with fireworks in Neahwa Park after dark sponsored by Five Star Subaru. Fireworks will commence at 9:30 p.m.
Festival admission is free.
Featured musical acts on the main stage in the park include Bobby Curious, singer-songwriter on the acoustic guitar, ukulele, harmonica and kazoo; The Michael Christopher Band playing classic country; and headliner Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra playing Afro-Caribbean rhythms and salsa. Musical acts will be hosted by emcee King Konye.
The large basketball court in the park will host family-friendly entertainment acts throughout the day, including demonstrations by Harmony Martial Arts and local dance schools. Additionally, members of the community are encouraged to bring their dogs to Neahwa Park decked out in patriotic attire to enter a “best-dressed” competition.
