NEWBURYPORT — Newburyport Art (NAA) is hosting the Members Pink House Pop-up Show in the sculpture garden on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., as a participant of the communitywide Pink House 100th Celebration Event.
Additionally, on Sunday, NAA will host a summer arts market in the sculpture garden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Pink House was demolished in March after a 10-year effort by the nonprofit organization Support The Pink House to save the beloved icon. Details of all that is happening on Pink House Day can be found at www.supportthepinkhouse.com/100th
The participating artists at the Saturday pop-up are Barry Berman, Bonita LeFlore, Cathy Grassello, Debby Hewey, Janis Sanders, John Abisamra, John Burciaga, Rosalie Sadowski and Stephen Levin. Also on view in the National Juried Show is “The Calm Before the Storm” by Jayne Mistretta, featuring the Pink House, on exhibit through July 5.
On Sunday, NAA will host its first summer arts market, where visitors can meet the artists and browse their artworks in the sculpture garden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The participants are Alexander Rybak, Lisa Pilorz, Madison Walsh, Tracy Levesque and Vera Struck. There are three more summer arts markets planned for July 20, Aug. 17, and Sept. 21.
Historic 65 Water St. has three galleries that are free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The building is closed on Mondays, however, the sculpture garden found behind it, welcomes visitors around the clock.
The attached yellow building containing the Hills Gallery has a separate entrance with easier accessibility. More information as well as an online exhibition gallery to view and purchase from, is available at newburyportart.org.
