ALTON — After some days off, the Danville Dans returned to action on the road against the Alton River Dragons on Friday.
But the River Dragons took advantage of the Dans’ rust in an 11-1 seven-inning win.
Jordan Luna scored on a wild pitch for Danville and had one of the team’s four hits. Michael Farina, Joshua Martin and Hayden Crites each had a hit for the Dans, while Ethan Fulton took the loss on the mound after pitching the first two innings. Alex Ainsworth had three strikeouts in three innings of relief and Logan Long had two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
For Alton, Joe Connelly had four hits and four RBIs, while Caleb Clealand had two hits with a home run and thre RBIs, Matt Cerano had three hits with a solo home run, Trevor Goodwin had a solo home run and Kyle Campbell had one RBI.
The Dans will try to get revenge against the River Dragons on Saturday at Danville Stadium.
