PLATTSBURGH — Mountain Lake PBS announces “PBS on the Menu,” a week-long celebration of local food, community and public media happening June 8–14 at restaurants and cafés throughout Plattsburgh.
Participating establishments will feature PBS-themed specials, from “Won’t You Be My Gyro?” to “Downton Dogs,” with a portion of proceeds from each item donated to Mountain Lake PBS.
Guests can also pick up a PBS on the Menu Passport to get stamped at each participating location. Those who collect stamps from a set number of spots will receive a complimentary membership to Mountain Lake PBS, including access to PBS Passport, the station’s streaming library of acclaimed PBS content.
Plus, each visit earns a chance to enter the community raffle featuring gift cards generously provided by participating locations.
“This is a fun and flavorful way to celebrate the power of public media and the creativity of our local restaurants,” Maria Smith, director of development at Mountain Lake PBS, said.
“Public television is powered by our community and this is a delicious way to show support for programs that educate, inform and inspire.”
From Nature to Frontline, Mister Rogers to Masterpiece, PBS has a long legacy of programs that are thoughtful, enriching, and accessible to all. Local support makes it possible.
