A Cumberland County man well known to local law enforcement officers pleaded guilty in a drug case last Tuesday and as a multiple offender (Range 2), received a 16-year prison sentence.
Fred Issac Threet, 58, pleaded guilty to possession of more than .5 grams of meth with intent before Criminal Court Judge Wesley Bray and as a multiple offender, is to serve his sentence at 45%.
The charge stems from a Feb. 29, 2024, traffic stop by Crossville Police officers who found him in possession of a large quantity of meth, which he admitted was his.
Threet was on probation at that time, which allows police to conduct random searches.
The traffic stop was conducted by CPD Mptl. Corey Freeman with assistance from Det. Koby Wilson and Sgt. Keith Sadula.
In other cases, the following pleas were entered:
•Donna Lynn Iles, 53, pleaded guilty by information, bypassing court hearings and trial, to a single count of theft of merchandise of more than $1,000 and received a two-year suspended sentence to be served on supervised probation.
Iles agreed to pay $2,714 restitution at a rate of $25 per month with fine and court costs waived.
The charge stems from a series of thefts of ammunition Feb. 12-16, 2024, from Rural King.
•Decoda Wayne Shelton, 23, pleaded guilty to an information charging identity theft and received a two-year sentence to serve with credit for 18 days already served in jail. The sentence is to be served concurrently with a probation violation sentence in General Sessions Court.
Shelton is to pay $546.65 restitution to the victim and is banned from contact with the victim.
The charge stems from a March 29 theft of of a customer’s identification obtained during an oil change at a local business during which the customer provided identification to obtain a veteran’s discount.
That ID was then used to purchase a gaming console online.
