The Schenevus baseball team earned a spot in the Tri-Valley League title game with a 10-0 shutout win against Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs on Tuesday.
Allen Osborne tossed a five-inning one-hitter for the Dragons, striking out nine batters while helping his own cause at the plate by going 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases.
Austin Tilley added two hits, an RBI, three runs scored and four steals in the win.
Schenevus (16-2) will face Edmeston/Morris at Sidney on Monday for the league final. CV-S/SS drops to 3-6.
Edmeston/Morris 10, Richfield Springs 0
Edmeston/Morris blanked Richfield Springs 10-0 on Tuesday to punch its ticket to the Tri-Valley League title game.
Lorenzo Reisen earned the win on the mound, tossing six shutout innings, striking out nine and allowing only two hits. He also had a pair of doubles at the plate.
Cam Preston also had two hits while Max Bolton ended the game in the sixth inning with a two-run triple.
E/M (5-3) will take on Schenevus in Monday’s title game. Richfield Springs falls to 4-6.
Unatego/Franklin 2, Sidney 1
Unatego/Franklin edged Sidney 2-1 on Tuesday in a pitcher’s duel to advance to the Midstate Athletic Conference Championship.
Sidney broke the scoreless tie in the top of the sixth inning on Elijah Wright’s RBI single. But U/F responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth thanks to RBIs by Joe Sargent and Logan Kingsbury.
Xander Johnson was dominant on the mound for U/F, striking out 13 batters while allowing only two hits and two walks.
Sidney’s Alex Secor also tossed a two-hitter, striking out six in the losing effort.
U/F (11-2) will play in the league title game on Thursday while Sidney drops to 11-5.
Laurens/Milford 13, Worcester 12
Laurens/Milford held off a late rally by Worcester on Tuesday to win 13-12 in a Tri-Valley League matchup.
Evan Clark led L/M with three hits including a triple and six RBI while also striking out two batters in the seventh to earn the save.
Nick DeBoer pitched six innings for the win and went 2-for-4 at the plate. Ashton Solovitch had two hits and three RBI and William Rohde also had two hits.
For Worcester, Grayson Basso was 3-for-3, Josh Head had two hits and two RBI and Lucas Evens and Johnny Leveski had a double apiece.
L/M improves to 6-7 while Worcester drops to 2-8.
Delhi 9, Greene 6
Delhi went on the road Tuesday and took down Greene 9-6 in a MAC contest.
After scoring seven runs in the sixth inning, the Bulldogs were able to withstand a six-run seventh-inning rally by the Trojans.
Isaac Marsiglio struck out eight batters as the winning pitcher for Delhi while also driving in a pair of runs at the plate.
Lucas Nealis also had two RBI, Bronson Thomson had two hits, Lucas Nealis notched a triple and Brayden Eckert registered a double.
Delhi (6-5) will visit Afton/Harpursville on Thursday.
Gilboa/Roxbury 11, Windham-Ashland-Jewett 1
Gilboa/Roxbury rolled past Windham-Ashland-Jewett 11-1 in Tuesday’s Delaware League contest.
Every hitter in the G/R starting lineup had a base knock, with David Cammer, Garrison Ross and Jordan Johnston finishing with two apiece. Cammer and Ross added two RBI each in the win.
The trio of Cammer, Strauch and Brayden Carr threw a combined two-hitter while racking up six strikeouts.
G/R (7-4) will face South Kortright in Thursday’s league championship game at Neahwa Park in Oneonta.
