DANVERS — Select Board members Gardner Trask and Dan Bennett and School Committee Chairperson Gabriel Lopes likely were all a bit nervous to wake up Tuesday morning to more clouds and rain.
What if the old saw about rainy election days were true … but all three were easy winners in their races.
If the number of people who voted in Tuesday’s Town Election is any indicator that bad weather keeps voters at home, then perhaps we needn’t include it in future predictions.
Despite the daylong dreary weather, yesterday’s Town Election drew 3,227 voters — 13.78% — eclipsing the 2023 election, when 2,874 showed up at the polls for 13.16%.
