LAKE PLACID — North Country residents have the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to the “Miracles of the Eucharist Exhibit” 9 a.m., Saturday, April 26, at St. Agnes School in Lake Placid.
The exhibit is part of the “Highway to Heaven” event, a day of “miracles, prayer and hope,” at St. Agnes Church and hosted by Diocese of Ogdensburg.
North Country residents are invited to pray, explore the Vatican exhibit of Eucharistic miracles, and join Bishop Terry R. LaValley for a special Holy Hour of Hope, including a procession with Jesus among the faithful and consecration of the Diocese of Ogdensburg to the Eucharist.
North Country residents will get to kind of hang with Blessed Carlo Acutis in Lake Placid.
“The day before his canonization, we were able to get access to a museum exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles that was inspired by his website,” the Rev. Bryan Stitt of St. Mary’s Church in Canton said.
“They manufactured displays to create a visual exhibit for people to walk through. That is being loaned to us, and it just happens to be the day before his canonization. We’re like this is perfect. We are going to have a big exhibit in Lake Placid to allow people to learn more about Carlo. We are going to have some videos. There is actually another movie coming out the next day. People are going to be able to go through the exhibit learn more about the Eucharistic Miracles and the Eucharist. Most importantly for us, to be able to pray at the church there in Lake Placid during the day on Saturday, the 26th.”
There is a cartoon movie about Blessed Carlo Acutis that will be shown for kids.
“Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality” will be screened in Plattsburgh at the Regal Champlain Centre on April 27 at 4 p.m. and April 28 at 7 p.m.
“One of our priests (Fr. Mike Marzan) was over in Italy just last week for meetings and when he was over there, he had the chance to go to Assisi,” Stitt said.
“He went searching for Carlo because there are relics of Carlo’s. He went to where Carlo was buried, and there was a cloth that Carlo used that he was able to bring back a piece of it. It’s just making a little bit more of a connection right here in the North Country.”
