NEWBURYPORT — The Wolfe Club of Newburyport will be building upon last year’s success when it raised $4,500 for Our Neighbors’ Table when it hosts it third annual ball Saturday, from 7 to 10 p.m., inside Mission Oak Grille’s Steeple Hall, 26 Green St., Newburyport.
“What better way to break up the dark, lonely and cold Winter than a big joyful celebration? All are welcome and those without tuxedos can just wear a dark suit. We will even have extra masks for those without. Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you all there!.” – Wolfe Club President and founder Michael Switzer said.
Annie and the Fur Trappers, a renowned jazz and blues band founded in St. Louis, will be returning to bring authentic New Orleans jazz to get everyone on the dance floor.
Proceeds from the event will again benefit Our Neighbors’ Table, to help fund its important work providing meals and resources to those in need and to support their mission to alleviate food insecurity and promote health and wellness throughout our community.
The event poster was again created by local artist and club member, Alan Bull. Prints of the piece have been displayed throughout businesses in Greater Newburyport to raise awareness and will be available to purchase. The framed original will be live auctioned again at the event to bolster the charitable donation.
Guests can again look forward to a professionally decorated and designed event under the direction of Chris Sawtelle and Deb Kehs, two film industry veterans.
“We are changing up the décor, to include special vignettes. We have graciously been given access to Westerman’s Prop House in Worcester, which houses three floors of elements used in movies. Who knows what might make it to our event? Come to the ball and find out,” Sawtelle said.
The ball is open to everyone and is selling fast. Tickets sales and details are online on the Wolfe Club’s Facebook page, or at: www.zeffy.com/ticketing/the-third-annual-wolfe-club-ball
