In a quarterfinal round match-up of the State Vocational playoffs, the Whittier Tech High football team traveled to Greater Lowell and came away with a 28-13 victory.
Whittier trailed 6-0 after the first quarter before scoring two touchdowns in the second on a 2-yard rush by Anderson Pineda Martinez and an 8-yard TD pass from Billy Galvin to Mark Nealon. Both conversion attempts failed.
Whittier added single touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters with Noah Allen on a 21-yard rush and Galvin on a 1-yard run. Allen and Martinez scored on the conversion rush attempts.
Pineda Martinez led the Wildcats with 72 rushing yards, while Allen added 66. Galvin completed 2 of 3 passes for 23 yards.
