CUMBERLAND — An alleged assault in the 500 block of Fayette Street at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday led to the arrest of two residents, according to Cumberland Police.
Justin William Yanky, 43, was arrested on charges of first- and second-degree assault before he was ordered jailed at the Allegany County Detention Center in lieu of $15,000 bond.
Tiffany Marie Chandler, 45, was charged with second-degree assault, two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances (not marijuana), possession of contraband in a place of confinement and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed on $7,500 bond.
Police said both Yanky and Chandler sustained injuries when they became involved in an altercation. Chandler was in possession of fentanyl and a quantity of suspected cocaine at the scene, police said.
