CUMBERLAND — At least two suspects were being sought late Sunday following a stabbing in the 300 block of Springdale Street that sent a man to UPMC Western Maryland for treatment of significant injuries.
Cumberland Police said officers initially responded to area about 10:20 p.m. for a report of a suspicious person in an alley. They found the 34-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds.
“After investigation it was determined that the victim was attacked by several people brandishing weapons,” police Chief Chuck Ternent said in a statement.
A Cumberland Fire Department ambulance took the victim to the hospital.
An Allegany County Department of Emergency Services alert just after 11 p.m. indicated two black male suspects wearing dark clothing that was blood stained were being sought in connection with the incident.
