UPDATE: Advisory lifted for Senior Center Beach

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City’s Senior Center Beach was cleared for swimming Friday after health officials reported the beach’s E.coli levels met safety standards.
Grand Traverse Health Department reported that water testing moved the beach from Level 3 (no body contact) to Level 1 (full body contact), and from 1,986 colonies per 100 milliliters to 21/100 ml. All other beaches in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties are Level 1.
