Hoyas offer Warriors
Andover High defensive lineman Jackson Fuller and receiver/defense back Nick Ilsley — both seniors — have picked up college football offers from Division 1 FCS Georgetown University, the team announced on “X.”
This past fall, Fuller turned in team-highs with 7.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. He had 39 tackles overall, earning Eagle-Tribune All-Star honors. Ilsley also had 39 tackles and a team-high four interceptions. He also caught 20 passes for 360 yards and a team-best five touchdown catches.
The two led the Golden Warriors to a bounce-back year, going 7-4 and earning a state tournament victory.
Power Rankings
The MIAA released its latest round of Power Rankings on Friday.
Central Catholic boys basketball continued its run at the top of Division 1, with Josh Roux and his Andover squad climbing to No. 5 and Lawrence (25), Haverhill (28) and Methuen (29) all in the playoff picture. Greater Lawrence is No. 16 in Division 3.
In girls basketball Andover is No. 6 in Division 1, with Methuen No. 29 and Central Catholic one spot out at No. 33. Whittier is No. 24 in Division 3.
Our girls hockey teams continue to shine with HPNA No. 4, Methuen/Tewksbury No. 6 and Central Catholic No. 30 in Division 1. In boys hockey, Methuen is No. 9 in Division 2 and Central Catholic is No. 22 and North Andover is No. 31 in Division 1.
