SCHROON LAKE — Schroon Lake/Newcomb played balanced halves in scoring to defeat J/M/NW, 6-1, in a Northern Soccer League Division III game, Wednesday.
The Wild Huskies scored three goals in each period as Taylor Bush and Olivia Hartwell scored two goals each.
Marissa Fifield and Piper Larabee scored the other goals as SL/N moved to 6-0 on the season.
Carly Smith and Fifield had two assists each with Hope Armstrong nabbing one as well.
Trailing 4-1 in the second half, J/M/NW’s Addison Swan scored unassisted to make sure her team got in the scoring book.

INDIAN LAKE — Crown Point and IL/LL played a game of hot potato in the second half, in the Panthers, 3-2 victory over the Orange.
After IL/LL grabbed a one goal lead in the first half on a goal by Alaina Travis, Crown Point took over.
Just before midway of the second stanza, Addison Hurlburt tied things at 1-1. However, just over a minute later, Morgan Scofield gave the Orange the lead again.
Hurlburt and the Panthers would make sure that wouldn’t last. She connected with Kaiya Cowan less than a minute later to tie the game for the second time.
Later in the half, Hurlburt and Cowan connected again to give the Panthers the lead for good.

LAKE PLACID — It was a back-and-forth game between the Blue Bombers and Red Storm. It came down to the wire for Lake Placid to win 3-2, in a NSL Division II game against Saranac Lake.
Brisa Brunette put Saranac Lake on the board first early in the game as Tyler Burth assisted. It would take 20 minutes before the score would be tied at one with Ella Moodey and Cecilia Norfolk connected.
The Red Storm’s Wren Crist would give her team the lead back as Brunette assisted her minutes later.
Just before the halftime break, Moodey knotted things up again.
It would take almost the entire second frame, which looked destined for overtime, before the Blue Bomber’s Addie Colby scored the game winner. She was assisted by Eliza Fitzsimmons.
“It was an intense battle all game,” Lake Placid coach Heather Brewer said. “SL is a fast transition team. We had a great full team effort today and were able to get the win with just 2:30 left.”

WESTPORT— Boquet Valley continues its impressive season, improving to 6-0 overall after a 3-1 victory over Ti.
Daisy Cushman opened the scoring for the Griffins with just 25 minutes remaining in the first half. Just over 12 minutes to go, Savanna Putman tied things up for Ti as Addy Munson assisted.
The score would remain the same until the start of the second half when Emma Conley, who assisted on Cushman’s goal, scored one of her own thanks to an assist from Claire Reynolds.
Boquet Valley would get an insurance goal in the waning minutes as Reynolds and Kendra Lyons connected to close out the scoring.

CHAZY — Marin Juneau and the Eagles battled a feisty Viking team and came out victorious in a 2-1 contest.
Juneau got things going early when Kendall LaBombard found her in space.
Almost 20 minutes later, Moriah’s Lexi Mascarenas tied things up, and the score would remain the same through the break.
It would be Juneau again to give Chazy the lead in the 16th minute of the second period as she connected with Gwyn Compeau.
The Vikings didn’t give up as they outshot the Eagles, 11-6. Calleigh Clark and Sylvie Brassard combined for 10 saves, with Clark making eight.

PERU — It was an intense game between the Division I rivals, as Beekmantown edged Peru 1-0 at the Apple Bowl.
It wouldn’t be until just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half that the scoreless tie would be over. Reese Peryer delivered a ball to the foot of Carly Hagadorn who placed the ball securely in the top of the net.
It would be the only blemish on the scoreboard as Peru’s Kori Lamoy stopped 11 shots that came her way. Her counterpart, Meegan Burdo saved six.

CLINTONVILLE — Plattsburgh scored all of its goals in the first half and that would be all it needed in a 3-1 victory over AuSable Valley.
Amaya Abellard and Aubree Mulligan connected on the first two goals for the Hornets to build a 2-0 lead. Later in the period, Emma Tuller added the third goal as Olivia LaMountain was credited with the assist.
In the second half, the Patriots got one back when Nora Rodgers found Lauren Saltus-Paul to cut into the deficit.
But, that would be the only goal Katie McCormick would allow as she saved seven of the shots sent her way. AVCS’ Lula Pfendler saved nine.

SARANAC — Saranac took care of business against NCCS with a 2-0 win.
The Spartans used a tenacious defense and opportunistic offense to grab the win.
Alyse Liberty scored the opened goal thanks to the help of Brooklyn Tompkins in the first half.
In the second half, Saranac got an insurance goal on the foot of Kaelyn Smith with the assist going to Eve Liberty.
The Cougars outshot the Spartans 10-8, but goalkeeper Addison Castine stood tall with 10 saves.
