For the third straight year, the Central Catholic girls’ soccer team captured the Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 title with a convincing 6-1 win over Haverhill.
“I’m so proud of this group’s consistency, work ethic and team-first mentality,” said CC head coach Jami Hayden. “This accomplishment really reflects the team’s commitment to each other and the program.”
Junior Sarah Tressler netted three goals, all in the first half, on two free kicks and from a throw-in which sailed right to the back of the net.
Teammates Ciara Sammon, Lucy Irwin and Lyndsey Fraga had one goal each and Irwin and Victoria Syrniotis had one assist each.
Goalies Gianna DeMedeiros (1 save) and Sarah Parker (2 saves) combined for the win.
