From the CCC Holiday Classic to the Argyle Christmas Tournament boys’ and girls’ teams took part in various tournaments to close out 2025.
What would have concluded Tuesday concludes Saturday at CCC as the holiday classic was rescheduled due to weather. Four games happened Tuesday, and four more are happening today.
While tournaments were played, some schools continued with a regular schedule as Northern Adirondack hosted Chateaugay.
BOYS
Northern Adirondack 57
Chateaugay 34
ELLENBURG — Northern Adirondack jumped out to an early lead and held off Chateaugay for a 57-34 victory.
Three Bobcats reached double digits, led by Luke Moore’s 18. Moore also made four of NAC’s five threes. Emmett LaClair added 17, with Shane Gilmore finishing with 10.
LaClair and Gilmore finished with double-doubles as the duo had 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
Brandon Leonard led the Bulldogs with 18 points.
With the win, NAC improves to 5-1 on the season.
“The boys played well on defense, particularly in the first half, and we were able to take them out of their offensive rhythm,” Bobcat head coach Nate Bilow said.

PLATTSBURGH — In the opening game of the CCC Holiday Classic, the Saranac girls defeated Boquet Valley, 57-35, Tuesday.
Maddie Gagnier led the Spartans with 18 points, with Lily Brown tossing in 13. Brown finished with a team high three three-pointers. Hannah Forgette added seven.
The Griffins were led by Claire Reynolds with a team-high 16 points. Daisy Cushman added eight.
“The girls came out and defended well in the first quarter, leading to us getting into our transition offense,” Saranac head coach Tim Newell said. “They are getting better at finding each other in transition, which is creating some very good scoring opportunities. We still need to cut down on our turnovers, and we need to be stronger finishing with contact. It was a good game in which everyone contributed to the win.

It was a defensive contest that saw PHS’ Amara Gorham come up big with offensive rebounds that prevented Malone from getting a final opportunity to win.
The Hornets defeated the Huskies, 31-30. Ava Weiss led Plattsburgh with 11 points.
Sadie Varin led the Huskies with a game high 18 points.
“Amara Gorham came up big for us in the end with a few key offensive rebounds that prevented Malone from getting a final look at the basket,” PHS head coach Kelly Weiss said. “We struggled offensively but were able to come out on top today. We appreciate the organization of this tournament and were grateful to have the opportunity to play. “

Saranac roared out of the gates to a 37-10 halftime lead and kept the pressure on Willsboro, winning 74-27.
Carson Duffield finished with a game-high 16 points as the Spartans combined to make five three pointers.
Connor Crowningshield finished with a team-high 11 points for the Wolves.
“It was a good game in which everyone was able to contribute to the win,” Saranac head coach Mike Recore said.

ARGYLE — Moriah used a strong second half to defeat Hartford, 52-36, in the opening of the Argyle Christmas Showcase, Tuesday.
Lexi Mascarenas led her team with 16 points on the way to victory. Emmy Nephew added 15 for the Vikings.
Teammate Emma Harrington chipped in 13 assists to help facilitate the offesne.
Hartford was led by Mckenzie Johnson’s game high 20 points.

The Vikings continued their strong play into the championship game defeating Rensselaer, 67-28, to win the Argyle Christmas Showcase on Wednesday.
Lexi Mascarenas finished with a double double of 18 points and 13 rebounds as Emmy Nephew poured in a game-high 25 points. The duo made four three-pointers each.
Lexi Cheney was stout defensively with seven blocks.
Rensselaer was led by Ray Paw and her 18 points.
