PLATTSBURGH — TDC (formerly known as The Development Corporation) has promoted Dani King from Vice President to President and CEO, effective Jan. 3, 2025.
Since joining TDC in June 2019 as Business Development Manager where she worked with new and existing tenants, overseeing lead generation programs, expanding TDC marketing platforms, and initiating a workforce development program, Dani then progressed to Director of Business and Workforce Development in 2022 and Vice President in 2023, the TDC said in a news release.
As Vice President, Dani has excelled in leading the Business Retention and Expansion program, spearheading initiatives that foster tenant relationships and growth. Dani engaged tenants through focus groups and tenant experiences.
Her management of tenant relationships—including lease negotiations and resource connections—has been pivotal in fostering a supportive environment for TDC tenants.
Dani’s leadership in workforce development has been instrumental in shaping a skilled future for our region by addressing current workforce needs and creating a pipeline for students pursuing STEM careers, the TDC said.
Her ability to facilitate relationships with site selectors and other stakeholders has positioned our region for quality investments, ensuring that TDC remains a leader in business attraction.
In her new role as President and CEO, Dani will be responsible for all operational aspects and will be the key interface with the Board of Directors and community organizations. Her strategic vision will guide TDC as it navigates future opportunities and challenges.
Dani’s background includes her tenure as the first director of the North American Center of Excellence for Transportation Equipment at the North Country Chamber of Commerce. There, she effectively engaged with transportation and aerospace manufacturers to address workforce, supply chain, and technical assistance needs, while planning and executing regional industry events that promoted economic growth.
A passionate advocate for the North Country, Dani holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master of Arts in Community and Economic Development from SUNY Empire State College.
Her knowledge and experience will be invaluable as she leads TDC into its next chapter, the TDC said. She has continued to expand her knowledge during this period by completing continuing education programs and achieving her Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
