A man was taken into custody Friday morning in Niagara Falls by officers of the Lawrence, Kansas Police Department, assisted by city police.
Falls Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) detectives and Warrants Squad officers forced their way into a home at 815 17th Street at around 9 a.m. Friday and arrested a male occupant. The man was not immediately identified by name.
Law enforcement sources tell the Gazette that the suspect in custody is the subject of an interstate investigation into potential sex trafficking of a minor in the state of Kansas. The suspect has been identified as a level 3 sex offender in New York state.
The suspect is reportedly the subject of an arrest warrant from the state of Kansas. He is also expected to appear in Niagara County Court on Monday morning.
