The Stewardson Trinity Cardinals hosted a Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Class S Regional on Tuesday night.
Stewardson (28-2) defeated the Iuka Lady Pirates in two sets (25-6, 25-0) and the Patoka Mohawks (25-14, 25-17).
Gia Bostedo had seven points, one ace, seven kills, 21 assists and eight digs. Cora Reed had 27 points, 11 aces, three kills, 14 assists, six digs and one block. Maddy Manhart had five points, one ace, 14 kills, six digs and one block. Gracyn Montgomery had 22 points, eight aces, eight kills and five digs. Reese Stigers had 15 points, eight aces, five kills, one dig and one block. Hayden Reed had six points, two kills and one dig and Brielle Friese had seven digs.
“Coming off two good wins last Friday, the girls continue to play aggressively,” said head coach Tammy Manhart in an email to the Daily News. “They are working so well together. Everyone contributes.”
Trinity advances to the SIJHSAA States Series on March 28 in Herrin, Ill.
