Stamford Central School
Kylee Hendrickson, daughter of Lisa Jester of Stamford and Roy Hendrickson of Stamford, is valedictorian of the Class of 2024 at Stamford Central School.
She was class president in her senior year and treasurer the year before. She was also president of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society in her junior and senior years. She participated in Drama Club, International Studies Club, Outdoor Club, and Music Club and competed at New York State School Music Association events in her sophomore year, where she performed a vocal solo and received a silver medal.
Hendrickson attended the Catskill Area School Study Council Leadership Workshops in her junior year. She worked throughout the school year as a Creating Rural Opportunities Partnership Peer Leader and was a summer counselor at Camp HERE, which stands for Humanistic Education in a Rural Environment. She also volunteered at Red Cross blood drives sponsored by the National Honor Society twice a year.
Her academic awards include the Dorothy H. Friedmann Creative Writing Award, David Crockett U.S. History Award, SCS Alumni Award, Student Council Award, Stamford Teachers Association/Board of Education Award, and highest average awards. She also received the Frederick Douglass & Susan B. Anthony Award and Rochester Institute of Technology Humanities and Social Sciences Award and Scholarship. She was honored as Stamford’s Student Scholar at the Scholar Recognition Dinner sponsored by ONC and DCMO BOCES.
Hendrickson plans to major in education at SUNY Oneonta in the fall.
John “Jack” Glenn, son of Gregory and Ann-Lis Glenn of Stamford, is salutatorian of the Class of 2024 at Stamford Central School.
During his senior year, Glenn was a participant in the New Visions Engineering Program and class treasurer. He was a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. He also participated in the International Studies and Outdoor clubs. Glenn performed at New York State School Music Association competitions twice and received a score of excellent both times. He was a Christmas Feeling Fund and school-sponsored Red Cross blood drive volunteer. He participated in the Catskill Area School Study Council Student Leadership Workshops during his junior year and Skills USA as a senior. Awards he has received include the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award, Rochester Institute of Technology Science and Math Award and Scholarship and Clarkson University Achievement Award and Scholarship.
He plans to begin a course of study in environmental biology in the fall at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.
