CUMBERLAND — Southern had three players score in double figures during Friday’s season opening 61-27 win at Fort Hill.
Emelee Parks led both teams with 15 points for the Rams (1-0) including three triples.
Jayden Weaver scored 12 points, all in the first half, while Kelsey Ward finished with 11.
Addison Furstenberg led the Sentinels (0-1) with 14 points and scored 12 after halftime.
Southern plays Northern on Saturday before facing Mt. Zion Prep on Thursday at 7 p.m. at The St. James in Springfield, Virginia.
Fort Hill hosts Keyser (1-0) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Mtn. Ridge 67, Bishop Walsh 35
FROSTBURG — Four players topped 10 points in a Mountain Ridge romp of Bishop Walsh on Friday night.
Carolyn Hughes tallied 14 points to lead the Miners (1-0), who led 16-5 after the first quarter, 31-20 at the half and 46-27 going into the fourth.
Kealana Pua’auli had 13 points and eight assists, Allison Tringler finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, Taylor Lamberson added 12 points, and Reese Carter chipped in nine points.
Cayenne Ostrander scored a Bishop Walsh-best 15 points, drilling four 3-pointers. Aerianna Jackson added nine points.
Mountain Ridge is at Berlin on Monday at 7 p.m. Bishop Walsh (1-3) hosts Northern on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Keyser 67, Hedgesville 45
KEYSER, W.Va. — Bibs Felton poured in a game-high 31 points to power Keyser to a rout of Hedgesville on Friday night.
Felton made 13 field goals and 5 of 7 free throws to lead the Tornado (1-0). Frankfort transfer Jillian Ault added eight points, and Rooney Urice and Ainsley Friend scored seven each.
Hedgesville received double-figure outputs from Maggie Boyer (16 points) and Rylee Bodkins.
Keyser hosts Fort Hill (0-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Allegany 69, Clear Spring 22
CLEAR SPRING — Allegany opened its season with a rout of Clear Spring on Friday.
Braylin Bosley scored a game-high 19 points for the Campers (1-0).
She added seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.
Amanda Vizza finished with 14 points and six rebounds while Maizzy Hose added 11 points.
Myia Miller had seven points and six rebounds.
Alco led 22-8, 40-10 and 55-14 after the first three quarters.
Lexi Matthews and Cheyenne Jesson led the Blazers with six points each.
The Campers head to Jefferson on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
