YELLOW SPRING, W.Va. — The Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide reported in the Yellow Spring area Saturday morning, according to Sheriff Nathan Sions.
“This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public,” Sions said. “There is nothing further to release at this time. More information will be released at the appropriate time.”
Sions said the incident was reported to the Hampshire County 911 Center around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
County emergency medical services personnel were dispatched for a reported shooting but advised to stage away from the scene. Those units were cleared after law enforcement arrived, Sions said.
Yellow Spring is an unincorporated community located about 10 miles from Capon Bridge.
