The children of two rock and roll legends are teaming up for a new band.
Nick Simmons and Evan Stanley, the sons of KISS rockers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, announced they will be performing as Stanley Simmons. Their first single, “Body Down,” will be released Dec. 5.
“It’s time,” the younger duo wrote on Instagram. “A year ago Stanley Simmons wasn’t even the beginning of a thought in either of our heads. Now it’s pretty much all of them. We’re incredibly proud of the record we’re making and very stoked to share it with you all. Thank you all for taking the ride with us…”
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Nick and Evan started teasing the project earlier this year by posting videos of themselves singing along with classic hits like The Eagles’ “Take It Easy” and Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence.” In February, they said plans to do a song together turned into a whole album and shared a preview of “Body Down.”
But don’t expect Stanley Simmons to dress up like their famous dads and sound like the band KISS.
“I’ve got my own thing going,” Evan said.
According to UCR, Nick Simmons is the 36-year-old son of Gene Simmons (a.k.a. the Demon) and model-actress Shannon Tweed. The couple got married in 2011 while starring on the reality TV show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” which also featured Nick.
Evan Stanley, 31, is the son of Paul Stanley (a.k.a. Starchild) and Pamela Bowen, who divorced in 2001. Evan previously performed with The Dives and Amber Wild, who opened for KISS on the final leg of their End of the Road farewell tour in 2023.
KISS is a rock band known for its elaborate costumes, makeup and theatrical performances. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 with original KISS bandmates Ace Frehley (Space Ace) and Peter Criss (Catman).
The group sold more than 100 million records over five decades of music, featuring hits “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” “Lick It Up” and “Detroit Rock City.”
