MANKATO — A nonpartisan roundtable discussion about proposed federal changes to the Medicaid program is planned by the nonprofits NAMI Minnesota and This Is Medicaid.
The free event is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Blue Earth County History Center, 424 Warren St.
Discussion will focus on how the changes could impact mental health services. Medicaid, known as Medical Assistance in Minnesota, is the largest funder of mental health services in the state, according to a news release about the event. The program covers 1.3 million Minnesotans, including families, seniors, individuals receiving long-term care, as well as people with mental health and substance-use disorders.
Roundtable speakers include Sue Abderholden, executive director of NAMI Minnesota; Shannon Brown from Fernbrook Family Center; community members affected by mental illnesses and their advocates.
