KINGSLEY — Make that a fifth straight win for the Kingsley Stags volleyball varsity team.
The Stags swept the Grayling Vikings in three sets, 25-13, 25-8 and 25-15, on Tuesday. The Stags move to 19-4-2 overall and look to extend their winning streak against Harbor Springs this coming Tuesday.
Kingsley got contributions from Jenna Middleton (14 kills), Sarah Wooer (30 assists, 10 digs), Aizlyn McKinley (four kills, two aces, 12 digs), Isabelle Seitz (16 digs, two aces), Marisa Graham (six kills), Delaney Case (four kills, one block), Alena Stewart (seven digs, one assist), Olivia Reamer (five kills, one ace), Macy Pierce (three aces) and Sarah Johnson (100 percent serving).
The Vikings host a tri meet on Thursday.

Benzie Central boys and girls claim NWC
MAPLE CITY — Benzie Central’s boys and girls cross country teams came away victorious at the Northwest Conference Jamboree at Glen Lake on Tuesday.
The boys team walked away with 34 overall points, followed by the host Lakers with 35. Frankfort finished in third with 61.
Glen Lake’s Colebrook Sutherland placed first in individuals after clocking in at 17:04.26 followed by teammate Abraham Feeney with a 17:26.57. Benzie’s Eli VanPoortfliet (17:36.80) placed third, and fellow Huskie Jackson Schaub (17:48.21) placed fourth. Frankfort’s Carroll Robotham (17:53.87) rounded out the top five.
The Benzie girls racked up 22 points to place first overall, followed by Glen Lake in second with 49 and Buckley in third with 54.
Benzie Central’s Avery Kelly placed first overall after clocking in at 19:38.76. Glen Lake’s Carmella Julian (20:43.72) placed second. The Huskies’ Nevia Chimonas (20:56.81) took third. Frankfort’s Addison Jarosz (21:30.53) was fourth, and Benzie’s Maggie McClellan (21:49.20) placed fifth.
Darnell, Shellenbarger top Elk Rapids XC Invite
ELK RAPIDS — Tuesday was a good day to be an Elk at the Elk Rapids XC Invitational.
Elk Rapids’ boys squad placed first overall with 54 points, followed by Grand Traverse Academy with 57, Lake Leelanau St. Mary with 69, Kalkaska with 79, and Kingsley with 81.
Qwynn Darnell placed first in individuals after clocking in at 17:28.24 for Elk Rapids.
GT Academy’s Parker Rubin (18:09.35) finished second and Beckett Dennis (18:10.74) finished third. St. Mary’s Cody Couturier (18:24.99) placed fourth, and Kalkaska’s Owen McGlone (18:47.89) rounded out the top five.
In the girls race, GT Academy finished first with a total of 27 points. Kalkaska and Kingsley rounded out the top three.
Elk Rapids’ Hunter Shellenbarger placed first in individuals after clocking in at 21:09.55. Shellenbarger’s teammate Brynne Schulte followed behind her after finishing at 21:23.89. GTA’s Addison Patrzik (21:42.91) finished third, and Kalkaska’s Kylee Jenkins (22:39.31) and Aaliyah Hillier (22:39.78) round out the top five.
