CAYUGA, Ind. — For all of its history, the North Vermillion boys swim team have always fell short against Fountain Central.
But on Thursday, the Falcons were able to go ahead and get a win with a 75-73 win over Fountain Central.
Emery Strubinger won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 25.03 seconds and the 100 backstroke (1:12.52) for North Vermillion, while Austin Ball won the 50 freestyle (25.82) and Brady Dryer took the 500 freestyle (7:24.40), The 400 freestyle relay team of Brandon Miller, Payton Russell, Ball and Strubinger won in 4:58.21.
For the Mustangs, Gage Harrison won the 200 individual medley (2:36.19) and 100 backstroke (1:16.27), while Eli Sowder won the 100 butterfly (1:07.28), Brody Larkin won the 100 freestyle (1:01.76) and William Armstrong took the diving event (237.30). In the 200 medley relay, the team of Ayden Donaldson, Harrison, Sowder and Larkin won in 2:03.66 and the 200 freestyle team of Sowder, Harrison, Donaldson and Larkin won in 1:51.34.
