GEORGETOWN — The Oakwood/Salt Fork boys soccer team had to fight for another Vermilion Valley Conference Championship on Thursday.
The Comets were down 1-0 at halftime against Georgetown-Ridge Farm, but won out in a wild second half to get the 4-3 win and their third straight outright VVC title.
Mason Swartz had two goals for OSF, while Macen Phillips had a goal and two assists, Pedro Rangel IV had a goal and Pedro Rangel V had an assist.
Jakob Rupp had seven saves in goal for the Comets, who are 17-2 and 11-0 in the VVC.
Simonas Ankstutis scored all the goals for the Buffaloes with Landon Heck and Elijah Jones each getting an assist. Matt Darling had 23 saves for GRFW, who is 5-7 and will travel to Danville First Baptist on Monday.
