FITHIAN — Down 39-38 after the third quarter, the Hoopeston Area boys basketball team was able to make a move in the fourth.
The Cornjerkers outscored Oakwood 21-18 in the fourth quarter to win Tuesday’s game 59-57.
Trenton Montez had 23 points with five rebounds, five steals and four assists for Hoopeston Area, while Brayden Walder had 13 points, Nic Cardenas had 10, Zach Huchel had seven points and Cole Miller added six points with four rebounds and three assists.
Alex Wallace and Ben Darling each had 15 points for the Comets, while Jackson Dudley had 12 points, Carsen Dudley had nine and Brandt Hobick added six.
The Cornjerkers will play Milford on Friday, while the Comets will travel to Chrisman on Friday.
