STEPHENS CITY, Va. — Winchester Post 21 plated six runs in the second inning to cruise to a 10-4 win over Potomac Valley Post 64 on Monday at Sherando High School.
Tyler Strosnider was the winning pitcher after he allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 frames. He struck out two and walked one.
Strosnider doubled twice, and Dylan Frazier and Kemper Omps doubled once each.
Matt McDonald had two hits for Potomac Valley and scored twice, and Hunter Harr doubled.
Post 64’s Lucas Williamson tossed 4 1/3 solid innings in relief, allowing three runs on four hits.
Potomac Valley (2-10) competes in the Mountaineer County Invitational this weekend at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia, beginning with a matchup against Moundsville Post 3 on Thursday at 11:30 p.m.
Post 64 takes on Garrett County Post 71/208/214 at 2 p.m. the same day.
Fort Cumberland also registered to compete in the tournament but had to drop out due to lack of players, as half the team is playing in a travel tournament instead.
