ANDOVER — The Police Department is investigating a carjacking at gunpoint Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Route 133 by its intersection with Route 28, police reported by social media.
The victim was driving an Acura SUV with Massachusetts plates. The vehicle has been reported stolen, according to police.
All victims were unharmed, police said.
Department spokesman Lt. Eddie Guy earlier said the incident took place in the vicinity of Haverhill Street between York and North Main streets. It involved “multiple vehicles and multiple people,” he added.
Guy said police have some people in custody for questioning, but have not made any arrests.
Before the carjacking, the suspected carjacker was involved in a road rage incident with others in Shawsheen Square where shots may have been fired, according to police.
