CHAZY — There were plenty of exhausted players following Saturday’s re-scheduled championship soccer game in the annual Frankie Garrow Memorial Tournament.
The Hornets and host Eagles battled to a scoreless overtime tie. There was no penalty kick shootout following 100 minutes of scoreless soccer and the teams are considered co-champions.
Both teams had more than their share of scoring opportunities with Chazy holding a 14-11 edge in shots on goal.
The two goalies — the Hornets’ Will Vega and the Eagles’ Henry Kapp — played very well with Vega making 11 saves and Kapp 10 while recording shutouts.
It marked Chazy’s third game in as many days and Plattsburgh’s third in four days, making for some tired players.
