Patuxent and Linganore have entered the Top 25 rankings just in time for high-profile matchups.
Patuxent appears at No. 24 in this week’s state media Top 25 poll and is set for a showdown with No. 18 Huntingtown in a clash of undefeated SMAC powerhouses.
Linganore, making its season debut at No. 25, replaces Oakdale, which dropped out of the rankings into the “others receiving votes” category. These two rivals will face off at Linganore this week to determine the holder of the I-70 Trophy.
Fort Hill moved up one spot to No. 16 after a 49-0 rout of Southern. The Sentinels (3-1) host unbeaten Hollidaysburg (5-0) on Friday night.
Elsewhere, the Top 25 saw minimal shifts. Archbishop Spalding remains the unanimous No. 1, followed by St. Frances Academy, Riverdale Baptist, DeMatha, and Quince Orchard.
Milford Mill Academy made the most significant leap among the previously ranked teams, climbing from No. 13 to No. 10.
