Oneonta police are investigating a shooting on Center Street that occurred Tuesday evening and left one person injured.
Police responded to a report of a gunshot fired at 30 Center St. around 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30.
A 36-year-old man was found at the scene with a single gunshot wound and was transported to A. O. Fox Hospital by the Oneonta Fire Department.
The Oneonta Police Department has initiated an investigation with assistance from the State Police, Otsego County Sheriff’s Department and SUNY Oneonta Police.
Oneonta Police Chief Christopher Witzenburg said Wednesday that no other injured parties were discovered or reported.
He added that there are no suspects at this time, and that there was no suspect located at the scene.
“This appears to be a targeted event and the person responsible fled on foot prior to the arrival of police,” he said. “We will be releasing no additional information at this time.”
