The Oneonta girls basketball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday with a 58-44 home loss to Owego Free Academy in the Section IV Class A Quarterfinals.
Selene Wellman led the Yellowjackets with 11 points, Kylie Carr and Hayden LeFever each scored 10 and Jordan Bellinger netted nine.
Jenna McEvoy hit six of Owego’s 11 three-pointers for a game-high 19 points.
Oneonta ends the year with a record of 9-12.
Unatego 48, Marathon 45 OT (Saturday)
Unatego rallied from an early deficit to defeat Marathon 48-45 in overtime on Saturday in the Section IV Class C Quarterfinals.
Trailing by 10 at halftime, the Spartans were able to force OT by allowing just 15 second-half points before pulling away in the extra frame.
Lizzie Craft scored a game-high 20 points in the win while Avery James and Raelynn Parks each had eight points.
Unatego (15-5) will face top-seeded Newark Valley in the Class C Semifinals on Wednesday at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Sidney 50, Watkins Glen 45 (Saturday)
Sidney went on the road Saturday and defeated Watkins Glen 50-45 in the Section IV Class B Quarterfinals.
Nayla Miley led the Sabers with 20 points, Isabella Conroy was also in double-figures with 14 points and Chloe van der Sommen added eight points.
Sidney (14-4) will visit top-seeded Susquehanna Valley in Wednesday’s semifinal contest.
South Kortright 73, Franklin 20 (Saturday)
South Kortright rolled to a 73-20 win over Franklin on Saturday in the Section IV Class D Quarterfinals.
The Rams jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and were up 40-2 at halftime.
Addy Eckert finished with 26 points and seven rebounds, Caitlyn Deysenroth had 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Carlee Dropp netted 12 points.
Zaeda Beadle was Franklin’s top scorer with six points.
SK (18-1) will face Cherry Valley-Springfield at SUNY Delhi in Wednesday’s semifinal matchup. Franklin ends the year with a record of 10-10.
Schenevus 56, Edmeston/Morris 41 (Saturday)
Schenevus defeated Edmeston/Morris 56-41 on Saturday in the Section IV Class D Quarterfinals.
Sam Barrett scored a game-high 17 points in the win while Amber Burton and Cady Ritton had 11 points each and Leah Brundege added nine points.
Leading E/M in scoring were Brenna Boton with 14 points, Taryn Lund with nine and Amira Ross with eight.
Schenevus (13-5) will face Stamford/Jefferson in the Class D Semifinals at SUNY Delhi on Wednesday. E/M ends the year with a record of 10-9.
Cherry Valley-Springfield 44, Laurens/Milford 21 (Saturday)
Cherry Valley-Springfield shut down Laurens/Milford 44-21 in Saturday’s Section IV Class D Quarterfinal game.
Bailey Thayer led all players with 16 points while Brin Whiteman and Mackenzie McGovern added nine and seven points, respectively, for the Patriots.
Bella Garlick was Laurens/Milford’s top scorer with nine points.
CV-S (12-6) will take on South Kortright in the semifinal round at SUNY Delhi on Wednesday. Laurens/Milford finishes the season with a record of 13-7.
Delhi 36, Greene 33 (Saturday)
Tenth-seeded Delhi upset number two seed Greene 36-33 on Saturday in the Section IV Class C Quarterfinals.
Tyler Abts had a team-high 16 points for the Bulldogs while Danielle Ennist and Lexi Davis scored eight and six points, respectively.
Delhi (14-7) will face Union Springs in the semifinal round on Wednesday at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Stamford/Jefferson 52, Charlotte Valley 33 (Saturday)
Stamford/Jefferson advanced to the Class D Semifinals on Saturday with a 52-33 win over Charlotte Valley.
McKenna Hoyt and Tierney Turner led the offense with 17 and 15 points, respectively, while Dezaraye Hillis added eight points.
Brinlee Wright was the Wildcats’ top scorer with nine points and Ella Gerster added eight.
Stamford/Jefferson (15-3) will face Schenevus in the semifinal round on Wednesday at SUNY Delhi.
Susquehanna Valley 61, Walton/Downsville 32 (Saturday)
Walton/Downsville fell to Susquehanna Valley 61-32 in the Class B Quarterfinals on Saturday.
W/D fell behind 22-6 in the first quarter and was never able to recover. Grace Walley notched a double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds while Ella Beardslee added six points.
Walton/Downsville ends the season with a record of 8-12.
