SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Ainsley McHenry-Sorber scored four times and Abby Nelson added a hat trick, leading No. 4 Northern to a 10-0 rout of Frankfort on Wednesday.
McHenry-Sorber scored three times in the first half for the Huskies (4-3).
Her third goal of the game came off an assist from Eden Rankin, while the other three were unassisted.
Nelson scored twice in the first half off assists by Kennedy Fickes and McHenry-Sorber before adding an unassisted score in the second half.
Jenna Bowser, Lyla Maust and Fickes each scored one goal.
Fickes scored off an assist from McHenry-Sorber to open the scoring in the second half.
Northern finished with a 39-5 advantage in shots, including 28-4 on goal.
The Huskies also led 5-0 in corner kicks.
Megan Weaver recorded 18 saves for the Falcons (2-12) while Maddie Mast added four saves and Veda Rebuck had one for the Huskies.
Northern hosts Rockwood on Thursday, followed by a trip to No. 5 Fort Hill (3-4) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Frankfort is at East Fairmont on Saturday at 10 a.m.
