Fire destroyed a house on Stone Road in the Town of Hartland over the weekend.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported being called at 10:33 a.m. Sunday to a report of a fire on the porch of a residence at 3189 Stone Road.
Personnel and equipment from Middleport Volunteer Fire Co. were deployed to the scene.
The sheriff’s office reported that all occupants of the residence were able to safely escape prior to the fire company’s arrival.
On its Facebook page, the Middleport Volunteer Fire Co. reported that multiple additional fire companies were dispatched for manpower to help extinguish the blaze, including Gasport, Hartland, Barker, Ridgeway and Shelby.
After the fire, the sheriff’s office described the house as a “total loss” and said the family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is being handled by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit.
