OAKLAND — No. 4 Southern routed East Hardy, 18-5, on Monday on Senior Recognition Night.
The victory pushed the Rams to 8-3, their fifth consecutive win.
The Rams scored four runs in the first inning and added two more in the second.
East Hardy answered with five runs in the third inning to close the gap, but Southern scored five in the bottom of the third and seven more in the fourth to put the game away.
Southern was led by Jordan Rush and Lindsay Miller, who each recorded a single and a triple. Emelee Parks scored four runs, and Lea Custer scored three times.
East Hardy (1-11) was led on offense by Brooke Moyers and Bella Bauserman, who each had two singles.
Southern’s Adeline Wilson recorded the win by scattering nine hits and striking out eight in the five-inning game.
East Hardy is at Tucker County on Tuesday and No. 3 Northern (7-4) on Thursday at 6 p.m. Southern hosts Mountain Ridge (6-6) on Tuesday and is at No. 2 Allegany (11-2) on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
