Moonliters Dance Club had its largest event of the year Nov. 15.
Eighty-eight people were at the Library in Fairfield Glade honoring and thanking veterans from all the branches of the military — Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy and the Space Force. There were veterans from each of the branches of service, except Space Force.
All the men and women veterans gathered on the dance floor while The Memory Road Trio played the official songs of each branch and then everyone joined them, circled, and raised their arms in respect during playing of Lee Greenwood’s song, “God Bless the USA.
The celebration was spectacular and the respect for the service of those veterans was heart-warming.
Alex and Diane Alenitsch of the Crossville Military Memorial Museum of Upper Cumberland also attended. The Museum is currently closed for renovations, and they are holding a “Raising the Roof” fund raising concert featuring California Dreamin’, a 1960s-70s Flower Power Experience, Dec. 7 at the Palace Theatre in Crossville. Tickets for the concert are available at the Palace Theatre and the First National Bank of Tennessee.
Almost 100 tickets have been sold for the Moonliters annual New Year’s Eve Gala.
The Memory Road Trio will provide music on New Year’s Eve at The Center in Fairfield Glade. The Dec. 31 Gala theme is The Roaring ‘20s, including heavy hors d’oeuvres by Willow Catering, a cash bar, photo booth, midnight Champagne toast, festive New Year’s Eve decorations and party favors.
The round tables seating eight people at The Center are perfect for socializing and chatting in addition to dancing and listening to music from the 1950s-80s, and even line dancing.
Many attendees will dress in Roaring ‘20s attire and be ready to welcome 2025 in style.
