Three eighth graders from Cumberland County Schools competed at SkillsUSA National Leadership Skills and Conference. This is the first year the county has established SkillsUSA middle school chapters and competed in competitions.
Brooklyn Johnson from Stone Elementary competed in Action Skills, demonstrating Fingerprint Analysis and Identification. She won first place (gold).
Colton Dyer from Stone Elementary competed in the Job Skill Demo O, demonstrating how to install fasteners in construction. He won first place (gold).
Carson Stout from North Cumberland Elementary competed in Job Skill Demo A, demonstrating how to band calves. He won second place (silver).
