SPRINGFIELD — The Rail Golf Club in Springfield was a daunting task on Thursday for the Danville Area Community College Jaguars men’s golf team.
DACC finds itself in 13th place out of 20 teams at the Blueboy Invitational hosted by Illinois College with a first-round score of 28-over par 316.
The Jaguars managed just six birdies as a team with Connor Campbell and Konnor Craven combining for four of them as they shot team-best scores of 6-over 78. Zane Douglas was next with a 79, Blake Arnold had an 81 and Josh Mathew rounded out the DACC scores with an 83.
Illinois Wesleyan leads the tournament with a first-round score of 3-under 285, followed by Illinois College Blue (286), University of Dubuque (287), Kirkwood (288) and Illinois Central College rounds out the top-five at 293.
