MANKATO — The Mankato Dept. of Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery on Monks Avenue, according to a news release.
Officers responded to the area of Monks Avenue and Woodhaven Circle for a reported robbery on Saturday at 1:42 a.m.
Three adult males, who were not injured, reported they were walking northbound along Monks Avenue when a vehicle stopped and blocked their path on the sidewalk.
Four suspects, wearing masks, exited the suspect vehicle. Two of the suspects displayed handguns and demanded money. The four suspects then left in the vehicle traveling north on Monks Avenue.
The suspect vehicle is described as a darker colored, smaller box style SUV, and believed to be either a Kia Soul or Honda Element with a standard white and blue Minnesota license plate, the release said.
The suspects are described as three black males and one black female, between 16 to 20 years old. The males were all described as having a thin build, 5’10” to 6’0’ tall and wearing darker colored clothing, except for one male wearing a red hoodie style sweatshirt.
The female is described as having a thin build, approximately 5’0” tall, wearing black pants and a hooded sweatshirt.
Public Safety is asking residents in the area near the incident to check residential security cameras for any possible footage of the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information on the incident or security camera footage is asked to contact authorities at 507-387-8725.
The investigation is ongoing.
