CUMBERLAND — A Cumberland man was charged Saturday night after he reportedly robbed a man of cash in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue, according to Cumberland Police.
Russell Clinton McLamb, 39, was charged with robbery, first- and second-degree assault and theft less than $100. He was being held Sunday in the Allegany County Detention Center without bond pending a bail review hearing Monday in district court.
Police said McLamb grabbed the victim by the throat and struck him in the head before fleeing the scene with the stolen money. Officers located McLamb a short time later and arrested him without incident.
