The Cumberland County 4-H public speaking contest Feb. 4 was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talents of area students.
“Each participant did a wonderful job, demonstrating excellent public speaking skills, creativity and confidence,” said Crystal Blankenship Cumberland County Extension agent. “We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part in the event.”
The winners of this year’s contest are:
Fourth grade — Hayden Hilts, first place; Delilah Morgan, second place; Tucker Brown, third place; Caroline Coffey, fourth place; and Evelyn Abbott, fifth place.
Fifth grade — Myla Burris, first place; Sadie Pimental, second place; Luna Oquendo, third place; Emory Schubert, fourth place; and Cooper Allen, fifth place.
Sixth grade — Megan Smith, first place; Amiyah Gardner, second place; Caitlynn James, third place; Abigail Burgess, fourth place; and Charliegh Dyer, fifth place.
