MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Charlie Davis survived episode one of the 46th season of the hit CBS reality show “Survivor.”
Filmed in the South Pacific on the Fiji Islands, the 26-year-old native of Manchester-by-the-Sea got muddied up, as did all the contestants, when in one task, they had to drag themselves through mud, under netting, as part of the challenge.
Another challenge with his tribe of six included transporting a 500-pound stuffed iguana off a platform, then over a tall obstacle and ultimately up to another platform where a puzzle awaited.
Although his team did not win the first challenge, it also did not come in last in the end, and so Davis lives to tell another “Survivor” tale.
Among the viewers of the season launch was Gloucester’s James “Jimmy T” Tarantino, whose was a contestant in 2010 on “Survivor Nicaragua.”
Tarantino, who talked to Davis a couple of times prior to the filming, said he is excited to see the young man do well.
Meanwhile, Davis was at a watch party with friends at the historic Bell in Hand Tavern in Boston. Davis attended Manchester Essex Regional High School where he was on the varsity cross-country team. He graduated Harvard University in 2020 and is now a law student at Boston College.
The next episode of “Survivor” airs Wednesday, March 6, on CBS at 8 p.m.
