WESTVILLE — Lainey Wichtowski was able to reach a major career milestone on Thursday.
The senior setter from Westville hit 2,500 assists for her career as the Tigers were able to beat Oakwood 25-12, 20-25, 25-16.
Wichtowski had 23 assists and 12 digs for the Tigers, while Mady Doggett had 14 kills and three aces, Ady Blakeney had 10 kills and four aces, Daylin Zaayer had 17 digs and Gwen Bennett had 14 digs.
Mady Nicoson had six kills for Oakwood, while Kendyl Rogers had three aces, Caydence Vermillion had six blocks, Sidney Dunavan had five assists and Sophia Hart and Bella Martin each had 13 digs.
The Tigers are 20-6 and 6-2 in the Vermilion Valley Conference and will take on Tuscola on Monday. The Comets are 4-15 and 2-7 and will face Iroquois West on Tuesday.

CHRISMAN — The Blue Devils were able to take down the Cardinals 25-22, 21-25, 25-21 on Thursday.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin is 15-6 and 6-2 in the VVC and will take on Milford on Tuesday.

DANVILLE — Hadlee Hayes had nine kills and two digs as the Buffaloes beat the Hilltoppers 25-15, 25-22.
Rubyrae Fraser-Soule had 15 assists with two aces and two digs for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, while Addisen Ellis and Milee Ellis each had three kills, and Madi Spesard had nine digs.
Watseka 8, GRF/Westville 3
WATSEKA — After the first half was tied 1-1, the Warriors would outscore the Buffaloes in the second half to get the win.
Simonas Ankstutis scored all the goals for Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Westville, while Ryley Heck had two assists and 20 saves in goal and Matt Darling had 13 saves in goal.
The Buffaloes are 9-10 and will next play on Oct. 18, when they will take on Schlarman Academy in the first round of an IHSA Class 1A regional.
