Auto enthusiast Kelsea Anderson, 22, has turned her interest into a bustling business as owner of Anderson Auto Detail.
Earlier this year, the Rockport resident celebrated opening her first shop at 168 Eastern Ave. in Gloucester, a milestone she achieved after years of work and determination to succeed.
She knows about hard work firsthand as the daughter of a life-long commercial lobsterman.
“I started detailing in 2022 during my senior year of high school through a work-study program,” Anderson said. “What began as a part-time job quickly turned into a passion for my love for cars.”
After the work-study program, she spent two years working full-time in autobody collision repair while building her detailing business, working at night and on the weekends.
“It meant long hours and very few days off, but I was determined to make my dream a reality, and this year, that hard work paid off when I opened my own shop,” she said. “Designing the space has been especially meaningful, combining my passion for vehicles with my childhood love of interior design. Giving up was never an option. I had a goal, and I was determined to reach it.”
Anderson Auto Detail services cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RVs, and fleet vehicles. Anderson herself is fully insured and licensed to operate Class D and Class M vehicles.
“I’m committed to treating every vehicle like it’s my own and always continuing to learn and improve. My goal is to provide quality work that customers can trust and be proud of,” Anderson said. “My reliability, attention to detail and honesty is the foundation of my business. Building trust is just as important to me as making a vehicle shine.”
Most importantly, Anderson said she is incredibly grateful to her customers, friends, and especially her parents and brother.
“Their encouragement gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward. Their support helped turn what was once just a dream into the business I proudly own today,” she added.
As her business continues to grow, Anderson said she’s excited for what the future may bring and is eager to build a reputation for exceptional service to every customer.
