Rockport 47, Pioneer Charter School of Science II 43: The Vikings (1-2) picked up their first win of the season with the home triumph. Senior captain Sam Kesterson led a balanced attack with 10 points, while Flynn Blanchard, Jerry Adams and Jasper Eck each had eight.
“We lost the lead late and came back with great defense and some clutch shooting from Jerry Adams,” said RHS coach Phil Whitley.
Eck and Adams both had big buckets late in the game, with Adams hitting a three and a pair of free throws to ice it. The Vikings will be back at it on Friday when they travel to Hamilton-Wenham for a 6:30 start.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Rockport 36, Pioneer Charter School of Science II 29: The Vikings mounted a fourth quarter comeback to secure their third straight win to open the season. Sunny Gallagher once again led the way with 22 points, hitting two threes and serving as a “force for our team tonight driving to the hoop,” said coach Jordan Fears.
Ryleigh Lemon came off the bench and added six points, all late in the fourth quarter to help secure the win. Both her and Natasha Proposki’s defense was very solid throughout.
Captain Gabby Lucido also played tough defense against one of Pioneer’s top scorers, according to coach Fears.
“It was really awesome to see the mental toughness the girls showed tonight,” added Fears. “They wanted the win and fought back the entire second half.”
Rockport is back in action on Friday at home against Notre Dame Cristo Rey (5 p.m.).
