TO THE EDITOR: Negligence is not an option. We are in the midst of a dreadful crisis. Our ecosystem is what sustains each of us. Climate change (global warming) is definitely real and it is causing significant damage and loss of life as national disasters are increasing at a rapid rate.
Climate deniers are leading our federal government even though the evidence is overwhelming. Greenhouse gasses are the primary cause of the destructive calamity that we see happening in this country and the world.
We have the science and technology to help us get back on track to save our precious ecosystems and to allow our children to have a healthy and safe future.
The consequences of our neglect of climate change issues will haunt us if we do nothing to mitigate this profound human crisis. To neglect our responsibilities to protect our children and our environment will be tragic.
It’s a legacy we would not want to leave.
Let our political representatives know how you feel about the dangers of climate change. The damages have already started but we can still help prevent additional destruction and loss of life if we learn more about climate change and take appropriate action. Negligence is not an option.
