Tif Farmakis-Day, an artist who explores a variety of mediums, teaches acrylics classes at galleries, art institutes, and fine crafts studios throughout New Hampshire
In this introductory class, learn the foundations of working with acrylics, a versatile medium, which can be used in thin layers like watercolors or in more opaque applications like oil paint. Using color, line, composition, texture and form, students will experiment with the many different ways to use the medium to create their own unique masterpiece.
Stop by the front circulation desk to register. A $5 non-refundable materials fee is due at time of registration (cash only please). This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Kimball Library.
Presentation on colonial meetinghouses
SANDOWN — Join the Sandown Heritage Commission and New Hampshire Humanities for a presentation on “Colonial Meetinghouses and Their Impact on American Society.” The program will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Town Hall, 320 Main St.
Paul Wainwright will tell the story of the society that built and used colonial meetinghouses as places of worship and places for town meetings.
The event is being held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Sandown’s Old Meeting House.
The presentation is free and light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

wraps up NE tour
HAMPSTEAD —The final week of Nashville recording artist, MARK209’s annual August New England tour includes three venues, beginning with an appearance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Seashell Stage at Hampton Beach.
Always a favorite at Hampton Beach, the quartet performs an energetic combination of classic country and patriotic songs, never failing to have fans clapping, dancing and singing along.
The group will appear the following evening, Wednesday, Aug. 21, closing out the season of Christian concerts at Salisbury Beach Boardwalk, 1-31 Oceanfront S. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 MARK209 will appear at a new venue, St. Anthony Parish, 172 Belmont Street, Manchester.
Fans can look forward to the return of MARK209 for their annual New England Christmas tour Dec. 2-6.

PLAISTOW — The Friends of the Plaistow Library will hold their annual Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, on the library grounds, 85 Main St. The rain date is Saturday, Sept. 21.

HAMPSTEAD — GriefShare is a thirteen-week journey to help you navigate your way through loss and grief. Using videos, workbooks and discussion the program’s goal is to help each other through.

UFO Festival returns to Exeter
EXETER — Come celebrate the 59th anniversary of the “Incident in Exeter.” The Exeter UFO Festival will return Saturday, Aug. 31, through Sunday, Sept. 1, in various locations downtown.
The Exeter UFO Festival is a great opportunity to learn more about the Incident at Exeter and other UFO-related topics. The festival features a variety of speakers, panels, and activities, all of which are designed to educate and entertain visitors.
In addition to the educational programming, the festival also features a variety of fun activities for kids, such as face painting, rock painting, games, crafts, and a tour of the popular UFO Crash Site.

Highnote Festival in 24th season
EPPING — The McPhee Family of Epping will present the 24th annual Highnote Festival from 2 p.m. until dark Saturday, Sept. 14, rain or shine, on the grounds of the Governor Prescott House, 173 Prescott Road.

Truck and car show at town common
ATKINSON — The MacDonald Memorial Antique Truck and Car Show sponsored by the Atkinson Lions and the Atkinson Fire Association will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2.
The event will be held on the Atkinson Town Common and adjacent Fire Department Grounds. The Atkinson Town Common is located at the junction of Route 121 and Academy Avenue in Atkinson.
There will be free admission, free parking and food sales. Donations are encouraged. Only antique vehicles (25 years or older) will be allowed to participate. There will be no judging of vehicles. No outside vendors are permitted to attend.
Come out and see these beautiful cars from the past. If you like antique autos, this will be the place to see them.
